Consider Wispr Flow if…

You want dictation across desktop and mobile, and cloud processing works for your setup. Check the features and data controls for your platform.

Consider Mouthtype if…

You want local recognition and cleanup on a supported Mac, explicit cleanup choices and a small app with optional skins. You’re happy to help test a private alpha.

Early means early.

Mouthtype still needs broader app-compatibility and fresh-install testing. It can mishear names or need manual recovery. We haven’t established an accuracy or speed advantage over Wispr Flow.

The new Settings window and per-app tone rules are in newer source builds, not the distributed alpha.3 ZIP. Product details checked October 16, 2026; the linked Wispr pages remain the source for its current behavior.
